When I have Safespace active the center rollerball on the mouse doesn't work on the internet. When Safespace is inactive the rollerball works fine. Any thoughts?

Deleting the Folders C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Artificial Dynamics

Hi: I've uninstalled Safe Space for time being because of a few problems involving both Firefox and Thunderbird. I noticed that I have a set of folders in the address noted in the subject that occupy about 67MB. I've not been able to delete the folder to free up space on my drive. I've also tried to use UnLocker, however, with no luck.
Can you tell me how I can remove this folder?
Thanks. -Jack

Hi, I think the features mentioned above are very important. Please do implement them! In addition please add a privacy level "Very Private" for folders. Such a folder should not be even able to be accessed anyway by the capsulated program.
So far the program still can see the containing files. This level could be the new default level which now is "Private". The default level should be
adjustable. Furthermore it should be adjustable that new files can not be created in a folder that is "Read Only" or "Private" (or "Very Private"). And most important I think: The coniguration should be seperated by the individual user accounts of the installed windows pc. There should not be any
intersections (which are so far specialized for the individual users).
I like safe space very much because it's very beautiful and it has good features but it should be more configurable.

Safe space does absolutely nothing at all! "Running Safe Space Applications" = completely blank... "quick launch in safe space" = does not even launch the selected program It's just dead, could this have to do w/ Vista service pack 1? I didn't mean to kill ur program, if you can tell me how to revive it... Already tried restarting computer, checked for updates, shut down all artificial dynamic operating programs in task manager, then restarted safe space... nothing effects it, it's just dead!

New to Safe Space

Hi,
I am a first time user of Safe Space and have a few questions that I am having trouble understanding.
1. Can I download programs whilst my browser is 'protected' mode without being safe safe protected.
2. When I try to download whilst in Firefox it won't download to my 'normal' save folder - can I only download to specific places when using safe space
3. Also I tried to install a program (open the installer) by opening in safe space and I got an 'Error 3: The system cannot find path specified' - How do I try to install program using safe space?. This also happened when I tried to open the program by just 'double clicking'.
4. If I install a program run under safe space will this then on re-boot (purging) be 'undone'?.
5. Also will by AV and anti-malaware programs continue to update as normal
I am wanting to use safe space to be able to mainly download programs (safely) and then install them in a type of virtual sandbox, which I am hoping safe space will do for me. I like the GUI and the 'border' around the browser and files to let me know it is protected.
Thanks for the reply as it is appreciated.

Downloading software I think has a virus in it

You could use a virtual machine (VirtualBox, VirtualPC, VMware, all of which are free, personally I prefer VirtualBox)
However, note 2 things: - some viruses manage to break out of VMs (especially if shared clipboard or/and shared folders with the host OS are enabled) - some viruses test whether they run within an virtual environment and don't act maliciously if they are.
Cheers, Mike
If anyone (Mike?) looks in on occassion I have a question about the above statement? How does an app (good or bad) know it is being loaded into a virtual environment? Googled but came up with nothing.
Thanks

I like SafeSpace but I'd like to see support for McAfee's SiteAdvisor for Internet Explorer and Firefox. I added it to the applications tab but it still won't connect and report the ststus of websites and search results. Is there something I've missed in SafeSpace to allow SiteAdvisor to function?

Help i cant bootup normally on my vista and i cant uninstall the programe

Hi,
When in Safemode, go to c:\windows\system32\drivers and delete or rename aswave.sys then reboot normally. You should be able to now uninstall, if it continues to blue-screen the problem is not likely to be with SafeSpace.

how can i track changes to files/registry in safespace?

I'm testing this product for personal use, running XP pro w/sp3. I downloaded a file that I'm fairly certain is malware, it seems to be a self installing exe. If I set the exe to run in safespace and then execute it, can I track what changes it attempts to make to my system?
Thanks for your time, it looks like a cool product.

I been using SS for like 3 months and i LOVE IT! Anyways,2 days ago i had a problem with a program that i installed on my pc and had to uninstall because it was not compatible with Vista. After uninstalling said program that was giving me a hard time i ended up having to restore my pc to a previous date using the restore option on my pc because i still had problems. When i did this restore somehow my SafeSpace stoped working. It was not Quick launching programs in safespace.Whenever i click on the Quick Launch in SafeSpace nothing happens. The only option that seemed to be working was Quick Launch Outside SafeSpace. So, i did an Uninstall of SafeSpace and re-installed it thinking it was going to work. But i was wrong, its still doing the same thing.I only have 3 programs running in safespace at all times,IE7,Firefox,and Yahoo Messenger, and NONE of these launch in Safespace. Can someone please help me? Thanks in advance.

To all SafeSpace users.
As you may be aware, Artificial Dynamics is a subsidiary company of the AppSense Group Inc. Artificial Dynamics consisted of a small team of developers who created the virtualization engine which made SafeSpace possible. In April, the technologies used in SafeSpace were re-acquired by AppSense Ltd and Artificial Dynamics has since been disbanded. As a result, we have only been able to offer limited support to end users.
Version 2.0.41.0 was our last official release. Limited support will still be available via the Artificial Dynamics support forums, and SafeSpace will continue to be hosted on Download.com – free for personal use.
Our patented virtualization technology is now being utilized within AppSense user environment management solutions to enable dynamic personalization of physical and virtual corporate desktops. If you’d like to know more about these solutions please visit www.appsense.com.
I would like to sincerely thank everyone who took the time to try SafeSpace. Your feedback helped us develop a great security product which is today being used by several thousand home users.
Best regards,
Kris.
